Ocean Ground redefines the urban coffee shop in Beijing by shifting the focus from a mere transactional service to an immersive educational experience. Located in the heart of the city, the design facilitates a transparent journey where the customer witnesses the entire lifecycle of the bean. From the moment they enter, guests are greeted by the sight of beans roasting in-house and the inviting aroma that follows. The space is anchored by a "Discovery Bar," a tactile laboratory where curious minds can engage with brew masters, explore different origins, and refine their palates. Architecturally, the project uses raw textures and acoustic zoning to isolate the "Rhythms of Roasting"—the crackle of the roaster, the hiss of the espresso machine, and the murmur of discovery—creating a sanctuary that sounds and feels like the beating heart of coffee culture.
